Russellville to Kansas City
From Russellville I set my eyes on SR 23, also known as the Pigs Trail. I don’t know the story behind the name but there are some really good twisties to enjoy. With very little traffic it is a really relaxing and joyful ride. While I have experienced better twisties, steeper hills and more grand vistas, this is still a highlight during a ride that so far has seen mainly flatland and some rolling hills.
I also get to test my VholdR Contour HD video camera. However I haven’t been able to mount it to my helmet or bike and only shoot some videos while holding it in my left hand. Unfortunately it is too hard to ride fast in twisties with only one hand and I don’t get the spectacular shoot that I had hoped for. The video is also to choppy to watch on the laptop. I guess I will have to watch the videos when I get back home.
After the Pigs trail, experiencing Eureka Springs (a tourist trap), entering Missouri and pushing the speed limit towards the north, I eventually reach Kansas City (staying at a Best Western as usual). This time I get surprised by the fact that Kansas City straddles Kansas and Missouri, and that I am still on the Missouri side – got to wait another day until I can add yet another state to my visited list.
I have a lovely dinner at McCormick & Schmick’s seafood restaurant at the Plaza, and then I see the latest addition to the Harry Potter saga.
Håkan jag följer er på resan det tar bara lite längre tid när det är på engelska men eftersom jag är inresserad så löser jag det som det mesta! KRAMAR
