We had a few days of really cold weather in early December however so far there hasn’t been any snow whatsoever here in Redmond. I had definitely expected to have snow by now and to be able to test how well the studded tires work. Well, the other way of testing the tires is of course to go to the snow!
So Dec 23rd I packed the bike and went south to the northern slopes of Mt Rainier at Evans Creek. Here is a short video (2:40) documenting the adventure.
I am quite pleased with the performance of the tires even if the bike is too heavy to make it a comfortable experience, at least when I am on my own up in the mountains.
Btw, Evans Creek is a little known ORV area. There are usually some 4WD and quads there but rarely motorcycles.
